It is a sad fate that every once in a while a person, peace-loving and law-abiding, contrary to his wishes but unable to control events or to anticipate what pugnacious and bellicose trouble makers may have in mind, is compelled to resort to force in self defense, in the course of which the aggressor may suffer physical injuries or even death. So it did happen in this case resulting in a prosecution for murder of the accused Pamfilo Artuz, now appellant.
