This is one of the several compensation claims redeemed from the retrogressive compensation scheme under the New Labor Code by the doctrine etched in the landmark case of Corales vs. ECC, et al. (G.R. No. L-44063, August 25, 1978, 84 SCRA 762; February 27, 1979, 88 SCRA 547).
