This is an appeal raised by counsel for the defendant from a judgment of conviction rendered in this case by the Honorable Jose C. Abreu, judge.

On February 15, 1908, counsel for Angel Ortiz filed a written complaint in the Court of First Instance of Sorsogon, against the Chinaman, Felix Melliza, alias Pinga, wherein he alleged that about the years 1903 and 1904 the defendant was doing business with the commercial firm of "Viuda e Hijos de F.
