Convicted by the court below of the crime of rape committed against one Loreto M. Apilado 1 and sentenced to suffer the penalty of reclusion perpetua, 2 accused-appellant is before us seeking his exoneration in this
appeal.

Preliminarily, we repeat what we have heretofore stated that one of the peculiarities of rape is that it is an offense to which, oftentimes, only two people the accused and the complainant can testify.
