BIDIN, J.:

This case was certified to us for review by the Court of Appeals, accused-appellant Julio Manahan (hereinafter "Manahan") having been meted the penalty of life imprisonment for violation of Section 4, Article II of Republic Act No. 6425, otherwise known as the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1972, as amended to wit:

"WHEREFORE, accused Julio Manahan is found GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of the (sic) Violation of Section 4 of Republic Act No. 6425, otherwise known as the "The Dangerous Drugs Act of 1972" and is hereby sentenced to suffer the penalty of LIFE IMPRISONMENT and to pay a fine of TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND...
