TRENT, J.:

This is an original action in the Supreme Court, the object of which is to compel the respondent judge, by mandamus, to reinstate a certain election contest and to proceed with the trial thereof.

At the general election held on June 6, 1916, Catalino Galang received, according to the returns, 157 votes and Gonzalo de Leon received 162 votes for the office of municipal president for the municipality of Cabiao, Province of Nueva Ecija.
