PANGANIBAN, J.:

In resolving this appeal, the Court reiterates the following doctrines:
 
(1) the factual findings of the trial court on the credibility of witnesses and their testimonies deserve great respect;
 
(2) positive identification prevails over denial and alibi;
 
(3) the testimony of a single witness, if positive and credible, is sufficient to support a conviction even in a charge for murder; and
 
(4) where the killing was qualified by treachery, as alleged in the Information, and there were no other attendant aggravating circumstances, the crime committed was murder, and the proper penalty...
