Facts:

- An information for multiple murder and frustrated murder was filed against the accused.

- Records show that one of the accused, then incumbent assemblyman Pacificador of antique, ran for the 1984 Batasang Pambansa elections. The victims were the staunch supporters of his opponent.

- On the night of May 13, 1984, the victims were ambushed by Pacificador's bodyguards. Evidence show that 217 bullet holes were found on the victims' vehicle while there were only 32 found on the accused.

- 7 of the victims were killed and only one survived.
