PANGANIBAN, J.:

While it is true that the confessions of appellant were made without benefit of counsel, they are still admissible in evidence because of appellant's failure to make timely objections before the trial court. If only the defense had proffered them on time, the prosecution could have been warned of the need to present additional evidence to support its case. To disregard a major portion of the prosecution's case at a late stage during an appeal goes against the norms of fundamental fairness.
