On appeal is the Decision[1] dated July 13, 2006 of the Court of Appeals in CA-G.R. CR.-H.C. No. 02097, affirming with modification the Joint Judgment[2] of the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 11 of Tuao, Cagayan, in Criminal Case Nos. 762-T, 763-T, and 781-T. The RTC found accused-appellant Nelson Balunsat (Nelson) guilty of two counts of statutory rape committed against his first cousin AAA in Criminal Case Nos. 762-T and 763-T and for attempted rape committed against his other first cousin BBB in Criminal Case No. 781-T.
