BRION, J.: 

We decide the appeal filed by appellants Jose Armando Cervantes Cachuela and Benjamin Julian Cruz Ibanez assailing the August 7, 2009 decision 1 of the Court of Appeals (CA) in CA-G.R. CR.-HC No. 03474. The CA decision affirmed with modification the July 14, 2008 decision2 of the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 196, Parafiaque City, finding the appellants guilty beyond reasonable doubt of the special complex crime of robbery with homicide, and senlencing them to suffer the penalty of reclusion perpetua.
