The undisputed facts are as follows: On July 7, 1950, appellant Cesar Mata purchased a piano worth P1,400 from complainant P.E. Domingo & Co. on the installment plan. The former paid P300 on account on that same date, leaving a balance of P1,100.

On the aforesaid date of July 7, 1950, appellant executed a printed form entitle Chattel Mortgage, with the same piano as the subject-matter, to guarantee the payment of P1,400 (it should be P1,100).
