This appeal was filed by accused-appellants Renato Lagat y Gawan (Lagat), also known as Renat Gawan, and James Palalay y Villarosa (Palalay) to challenge the Court of Appeals' October 8, 2008 Decision[1] in CA-G.R. CR.-H.C. No. 02869, for affirming with modification the March 19, 2007 Decision[2] of the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 21, Santiago City, wherein they were found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of Qualified Carnapping in Criminal Case No. 21-4949.
