ZALAMEDA, J.:

It has been said that money laundering is probably as old as money itself. In the past, however, nobody looked at it as a crime. It was more the predicate offense that was looked at than what was done with the proceeds of that crime.[1]

The ponencia denied the Petition for Review on Certiorari of Girlie J. Lingad (petitioner) and affirmed the Decision dated 11 December 2015 and Resolution dated 02 June 2016 of the Court of Appeals (CA) that upheld the conviction of petitioner for money laundering as penalized under Section 4 (a) of Republic Act No. (RA) 9160 or the Anti-Money Laundering...
