The defendant in this case is charged with the crime of falsification of a public document, defined and penalized in paragraph 4 and 7 of article 300 of the Penal Code.

The trial court, after considering the complaint and the proof introduced at the hearing of the case, rendered judgment on the 4th of November, 1904, convicting the defendant Jose Paraiso of the crime charged in the complaint, and sentenced him to the penalty of fourteen years eight months and one day of imprisonment, and to suffer the accessory penalties of article 56 of the same code, and to the payment of a fine of 5,001 pesetas, or its...
