FERNANDO, J:

The main reliance in this appeal from a conviction for the crime of rape by Enrique Eguac is the constitutional presumption of innocence. 1 It is the contention of counsel that the proof coming primarily from the offended party falls short of the standard of demonstrating guilt beyond reasonable doubt. It is true that there is need to scrutinize most carefully the version as testified to by the complainant to avoid the possibility of injustice being committed.
