In this certiorari proceeding, an error jurisdictional in character, namely the denial of procedural due process, is imputed to respondent Court of Appeals. 1 The antecedents, as set forth in a pleading of petitioner, disclose that a judgment of respondent Court, promulgated on June 30, 1970, affirmed his conviction for the crime of homicide, the sentence being imprisonment of not less than six years and one day of prision mayor as minimum to not more than fourteen years of reclusion temporal as maximum; it was thereafter sent to his attorney of record, Benjamin Defensor, on July 20, 1970, with such...
