FERNANDO, J.:

A prosecution for rape invariably elicits the sympathy of this Court for the complainant, much more so when she is quite young. That is to be expected for, if proven, the assault on the dignity and honor of a human being is not to be tolerated or countenanced. It calls for severe condemnation. For such a complaint, however, to prosper and the accused to be convicted, the law - and quite rightly at that - expects proof of the most satisfactory character.
