This is an appeal from the decision1 [Per Executive Judge Juan A. Bigornia, Jr.] of the Regional Trial Court of Ilagan, Isabela, Second Judicial Region, Branch 18, finding the accused-appellant Ponciano Rivera guilty of murder for the killing of his common-law wife Romana Vda. de Rivera on December 4, 1992 and sentencing him to suffer the penalty of reclusion perpetua and to pay the heirs of the deceased P50,000 as indemnity.
