Accused-appellant Antonio Eribal (hereafter ERIBAL) appeals from the decision1 [Rollo, 24-38; Original Record (OR), Criminal Case No. 14094, 143-157. Per Judge Demosthenes L. Magallanes.] of 20 August 1996 of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 54, Bacolod City, in Criminal Case No. 14094 convicting him of murder and sentencing him to suffer the penalty of reclusion perpetua and pay the heirs of the victim P100,000 as moral damages; P50,000 as actual damages; and P100,000 as exemplary damages, as well as the costs.
