For Review is the Decision[1] rendered by the Court of Appeals promulgated on 21 March 2005 in CA-G.R. CR No. 00540 entitled, "People of the Philippines v. Paterno Oliquino," affirming, with modification, the Decision[2] dated 3 December 1999 of the Regional Trial Court of Legazpi City, Branch 3, in Criminal Case No. 7192, finding appellant guilty of the crime of rape and imposing upon him the penalty of reclusion perpetua.
