Omitting the features not strictly relevant to the points of law involved, the facts of the present case are brief as follows: On February 8, 1916, a Torrens certificate of title (No. 414) to a parcel of land containing an area of nearly 61 hectares, in the barrio of Santo Niño, municipality of Concepcion, in the Province of Tarlac, was issued in favor of Juana Angeles and seventeen others as tenants in common (hereinafter referred to collectively as the "Angeles heirs," though a few of them in fact bear other surnames).
