PEREZ, J.:

This is an appeal from the Decision[1] dated 27 September 2007 of the Court of Appeals in CA-G.R. CR-H.C. No. 02176 affirming the Decision[2] dated 24 March 2006 of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) of Bontoc Mountain Province, Branch 35. The RTC found accused-appellant Leonardo Degay guilty beyond reasonable doubt of three counts of statutory rape under Articles 266-A[3] and 266-B[4] of the Revised Penal Code and sentenced him to suffer the penalty of reclusion perpetua and to pay each of the victims P50,000.00 as civil indemnity and P50,000.00 as moral damages.
